College of Computer and Information Engineering was founded in 2004. Its predecessor is the Department of Computer Science established in 1984, and is one of the earliest computer schools and departments established in Henan Province. The college has five departments: Department of Computer Science and Technology, Department of Communication Engineering, Department of Network Engineering, Department of Internet of Things Engineering and Department of Artificial Intelligence. It provides five undergraduate programs: Computer Science and Technology, Communication Engineering, Internet of Things Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Cyberspace Security; one master’s program in the first-level discipline of Computer Science and Technology, and three professional degree master’s programs: Master of Electronics and Information Technology, Master of Agriculture (Agricultural Engineering and Information Technology) and Master of Education (Modern Education Technology). Currently, the college has 111 teachers, including 7 professors, 37 associate professors and 69 doctors, and over 2200 students.
The college owns Henan Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Personalized Learning in Education, Henan Engineering Laboratory of Big Data for Teaching Resources and Education Quality Assessment, Henan Engineering Laboratory of Intelligent Business and IoT Technology, Henan Laboratory of Analysis and Application of Big Data in Education, Henan Engineering and Technology Research Center of Computational Intelligence and Data Mining for Colleges and Universities, Xinxiang Key Laboratory of Intelligent Information Processing, Institute of Artificial Intelligence, HNU Computer Application Institute and Intelligent Information Processing Key Laboratory. The school is the examination site of National Computer Rank Examination and National Applied Information Level Test, and the Network Security Education Base in Xinxiang City.
