On the morning of July 9th, Vice President of the Education University of Hong Kong, Mr. Lu Chengjie, and his delegation of three people visited HNU. Vice President Song Ye of HNU met with the guests in the second conference room of Qinzheng Building. The heads of relevant units of HNU such as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, Faculty of Education, and the Basic Education Group Office attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Yang, Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office.
Song Ye warmly welcomed Vice President Lu, and succinctly introduced HNU’s century-long educational history, academic strengths, distinctive features in teacher education, as well as the international collaborations and partnerships with universities in Hong Kong. She highlighted the similar educational philosophies between both institutions, particularly in the realm of teacher education where both have rich historical foundations and excellent achievements. She expressed her hopes for both parties to engage in in-depth communication and establish practical cooperation in areas such as teacher education and training. By progressively shaping signature exchange programs, she aspired to foster integrated development and collaborative progress between the two institutions, bringing tangible benefits to faculty and students alike, and enhancing exchange and interaction among youth from Henan and Hong Kong.
On behalf of the visiting delegation, Lu Chengjie expresses his gratitude for the warm reception by HNU. He provided a detailed account of the development history, academic strengths, international collaborations, and partnership initiatives with mainland educational institutions of The Education University of Hong Kong. He noted that both institutions share a high degree of compatibility in their academic programs and research areas. He looks forward to enhancing bilateral exchanges and cooperation through joint initiatives such as teacher training and academic guidance for graduate students. Furthermore, he anticipates the establishment of a long-term collaborative mechanism between the two schools.
At the meeting, both parties exchanged views on a collaborative implementation plan involving faculty-student exchanges, student training, and teacher development, and reached preliminary agreement on cooperation intentions.
Before the meeting, the delegation visited the History Museum of HNU and Faculty of Education, with accompanying officials from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office and Faculty of Education.
